Meet The Team

Chris and Tina met in the summer of 1999 when Tina was hired as an assistant band director at Glen Rose ISD. Although they only worked in the same district for one year, they realized quickly that their teaching styles were complementary to each other and they worked very well together. Since that time they have been best friends, collaborating on a regular basis and helping each other with their programs.

Currently, both Chris and Tina are retired from full-time band directing, but they are both mentors and clinicians for numerous programs in the north Texas area. With over 60 years of combined experience as successful band directors and mentors, Chris and Tina have seen it all and together, we’re going to talk about the part of being a band director that doesn’t always make it into your conducting classes, methods courses, or music education textbooks.

We’ll talk about rehearsal techniques, classroom management, program organization, student leadership, communication, recruiting and retention, concert preparation, marching band, budgeting, inventory, scheduling, and all those other responsibilities that somehow become part of the job. You know—the things nobody mentioned when you decided to become a music educator.
