McLellan Family Clinical Teacher Award
The McLellan Family Clinical Teacher Award was started in 2024 as a way to help support the band clinical teachers from Tarleton State University. As an alumni and clinical teacher supervisor for Tarleton State University, I wanted to give back to the future of the profession that has been so rewarding for me.

Each semester, students are invited to participate in the application process which includes a resume, essay, and observation of their current teaching skills. Through a faculty committee, one clinical teacher receives a $500.00 award to help with expenses during the semester as well as a personal plaque, and their name placed on a permanent plaque in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center on the campus of Tarleton State University.

Jersey did her clinical teaching in Santo ISD with Mark Belding. Upon graduation, she was hired as Assistant Band Director at Acton Middle School in Granbury ISD where she is doing a fantastic job and earned a Sweepstakes with her NV band in her first year!!
Fall 2025 - Brooke Lane
Brook is currently completing her clinical teaching in Midlothian ISD at Midlothian Heritage HS with Rich Bahner and Walnut Grove MS with Nick Nunley. Brooke will graduate in May 2025!!
Fall 2024 - Hunter Steele
Hunter did his clinical teaching in Santo ISD with Mark Belding. Upon graduation, Hunter was hired as a long-term sub in for the band program in Lampasas ISD. Hunter now serves as the Assistant Band Director in Edgewood ISD.

Spring 2025 - Nicholas Jeter
Nick did his clinical teaching in Tolar ISD with Tember Lowe. Upon graduation, Nick was hired as Assistant Band Director and elementary music teacher for Meridian ISD.
